The Canadian Business Press welcomes this year’s host of the 54thannual KRW Gala Awards, Deirdre McMurdy – one of Canada’s leading business journalists. McMurdy began her career in the business-to-business sector at Southam Inc., writing for Canadian Petroleum and Canadian Chemical Engineering magazines. She worked at Maclean Hunter as associate editor of Canadian Electronics Engineering, and wrote for Benefits Canada and Office Equipment and Methods. McMurdy worked in both newspaper and consumer publishing before branching into broadcasting, where she reported on business trends and hosted for CTV and Global Television Network. McMurdy now coordinates Ottawa area, government and business news for local market television stations across the Global Television Network.
